Ken Hall update

Hi there boys and girls

I have been discussing the various opinions aired on this site regarding the 2012 Ken Hall Trophy and hope to clarify the clubs situation below.

Like many of you , I have been going to Langrish for over 40 years and the Ken Hall has always meant Sidecars. I think it's the law.

This is still very much how the club feels, but this year the Sidecar GP calender conspired to make an invitation International impossible since the Swedish GP is the day before, making travel from there in time a no-go. Langrish MCC even approached the FIM for a date change but with no luck.

In order to run a worthwhile event the club has agreed to run a British Championship solo round on the Monday and they are not allowed to run with any other classes e.g. sidecars or quads.

The good news is that the Sunday Twinshock Sidecars will effectively be the Premier (only!) Sidecar class on offer to the paying public over the weekend and will be billed as such. I think we can expect a bigger than usual Sunday crowd since many of the spectators are not regular avid Motocross fans but rather are fans of the event and especially Sidecars.

As for the £60 entry fee, I do understand that this is top dollar. It is however only £5 more than last year and is a great chance to ride that famous International course and follow in the wheel tracks of the greats of the Sidecar world for over 4 decades.

Also, in recognition of your comments , the organisers have agreed to include an extra loop so that the track length is improved over previous years.

So, let's support this famous event and get entries in as soon as possible to give the organisers the support they need.

Not long ago you were up for riding Belleme with the rest of us.

Remember for that entry fee we got to watch some great racing on the monday , which offset the high entry fee. what we got this year. F ALL.

One extra loop . Woop hey. I`m so excited.

We will still be treated as second rate, pushed into some far corner of the pits to make room for some snotty little solo with a 30ft truck.
