Our sidecar
Just doing some homework on are Norton sidecar. We spoke to wasp motorcycles today with the frame number and it was built and sold to Thierry Bourne in France/Belgium. Does anybody have any information on Thierry, if so I would be very grateful due to me being very keen on getting to know the history of our sidecar.
Cheers :)

Fortunately Doug, I was wearing my surgical corset which prevented my sides splitting with the mirth you generated. Have you ever considered a career on the comedy circuit ?

Yeah we get it KP, you are wearing a corset to 'hold yourself together'.

Hello J,
Can't give any real help on your outfit, other than that was certainly the colour fibre glass the Borms used. I remember seeing them at a late 70's British Grand Prix (78/79 ) at Beenham Park. For the 1980 season we bought a new outfit from Robbie, initially we were going to have it in red, but I thought I like that light metalic blue on the Borms bike and so that was the colour we bought, with white mudguards. I cut small feet shapes in the two platforms and had them anodised gold, along with the rims and brake plates. We raced it through to 1986, and then a couples of times a year from 1990 till 2000 and then 2008. Sadly the barn I kept it in caught fire in 2009, and pretty much destroyed it.
What year is yours, the front forks look like 81/82, and the rear swinging arm looks more like 83 on if I remember correctly. Can't remember what year that shape tank came out, think that was 83, I know we fitted one in 84, along with a curved front fork loop.
I must say seeing the two pictures of your bike in the gallery made me double take. It would have been good to sit on the startline with another one the same colour, as I don't recall anyone else with that colour in Britain, well not in the ACU, don't know if anyone within the AMCA used it.
Regards
Paul
