IMBA round. July 29th.

Just had an email from club and it reads.

Hi Kevin
Yes the IMBA twinshocks will definitely be going ahead although we could do with a bit more interest from the twinshock crews to get a good line up on the day. The track is being given a revamp so that it will suit sidecar racing with nice wide sweeping bends and eliminating the more technical jumpy sections as favoured by modern solos. This event is aimed mainly at sidecars and the track layout will reflect that!
AMCA will forward the entry details to me in the next couple of days and the entry forms can then be downloaded directly from the amca's own website. Classic AMCA licence holders will enter our event as per usual and for their usual entry fee while there will be a day licence available for non-amca licence holders.
As soon as I get more details from the amca office I will forward the 'entry' link to yourself to share amongst the twinshock crowd.

Track is looking mint - graded back in early May and now looking as smooth as a motorway!!!

Twinshock entries are coming in nicely - with some top riders already paid up and more coming in each day. Modern supports are also drawing some top British teams and we have also received entries from some foreign crews as well which should make it quite interesting.

Welsh mainstream TV station S4c (Welsh version of Channel 4) have just confirmed that they will be filming the racing and airing it on their flagship motorsport programme - RALIO in a couple of weeks time. They recently showed the TT races in a fantastic hour long programme so this is our chance to give sidecarcross some much needed publicity on the mainstream tv.

With next week supposed to be giving us much better weather it's looking pretty good for the 29th. Whatever the weather the meeting is definitely going ahead as Shobdon is an all weather track - so don't hesitate - get them entry forms posted and be part of a super day of sidecarcross racing.

I have been out the track today.The track is good to go and has been graded well, all paddocks have been cut and are dry,, should be a cracking weekend, so if you ain't sent a reg in get it sorted... love you all...

Lets get the entries up to 20+ if we can. As Adam said - track is looking mint, very well graded and settled. Dry week ahead as well which is a bonus.

All practice and racing will be Sunday only for all classes.
After consultation with some experienced twinshock riders the twinshock chairs will race 10 minute motos. Hope this is ok with you all. Full Timetable will be published on Wednesday.

As well as a great days racing, the club will be raising money for a brilliant cause, "Head start for Hannah". Hanna is a lovely 6 month old little girl (also Neil Warringtons granddaughter) born with servere (servere flat head syndrome) the nhs will not provide a helmet for Hanna so we will be holding a raffle on Sunday with all donations going to this good cause. If anyone can donate prizes please bring them along on Sunday. Thanks in advance!

AMB Transponders will be used at Shobdon on Sunday for lap scoring in all classes. If any twinshock riders need to hire one out then the amca will be able to provide them for £5. They can be collected from Race Control at Signing on.

Sorry but Chell's and Pedder are at Abbeycwmhir classic scramble this weekend as it it a round of the British Bike Championship. p.s any more info on Javron? :??<<:

With regard to the twinshock chair races being 10 mins,I feel that this is too short a time and the races should be at least 12+1. If the races have to be kept short due to timescale on the day then fair enough but if this is not the case make the races longer.The entry is good enough to sustain good racing thoughout the field for the longer time

We are prepared to run whatever the majority of the twinshock riders want - I thought 10 mins as that was what I was told you guys would want. Let me know on here what you want and I'll get it sorted.

Is this Ivan? I see you are from France!!! Licence form was sent 3 weeks ago following your phone call asking for an AMCA licence application form. I used the pre-paid addressed envelope that you provided and as I hadn't heard anything from you since then I presumed that it had arrived safely.
As for the cheque - that was for your passenger to join SMXW club so that he could become an amca licence holder. Cancel it if you want.

Hi Aled, with the entry you have i think 15mins + 1 would be good as you will have racing all through the field and to the chequered flag, not just a quick 4 lap dash, and anyone who has a bad start has time to come through. Just cause we're on old bikes doesn't mean we want short races. Regards Shaun.

I totally agree with the comment made previously. Let's have these races longer. There will be plenty of us there to make really good racing! I would like to see them as 15mins + 1 lap much better than a quick dash.
