I read on another forum they may well include modern chairs. they have not ruled out the idea.
In my opinion given the nature of the track , it will dig out so much with modern chairs, it will make the ruts so bad. it will be like riding Genk. !!!!! unless graded after moderns. !!!
Will the meeting now be renamed ???
not putting the organisers down but will it really work ??

Re: Club moto retro- culham vintage motocross. 2012
Kev has posted what I was already thinking.
Have you actually ridden Culham Adam? ,because i have and it gets proper bombed. Holes in the bottom of the ruts even.
I like it tough,it sorts out the fit from the fat, but if it gets to rough you will be able to hear the moaning and groaning in Oxford by the end of the day...
At lest at Genk they put the twinnies on first now, that will be vital at Culham too.

How rude of me, still in my christmas suit. !!!!!
Lets not think of longmores arse.
Seems that most crews i met over christmas in my little grotto are holding out to see what the final structure of the meeting will be.
There has been alot of changes since the meeting was announced , some for the better and some not.
But mr Gilo, to put your some what small mind at rest. I will be there in body and spirit supporting you and the twinshock sport.
And tell kieren, I`m still waiting for him to tell me which bits i need to hang out on the left handers.

Linda, on behalf of Kieran and myself we don't mind which bits you hang out, but I will say one thing, as i am the father of my passenger, it is in his best interest that I should check out your handling techniques first, as I have more experience in handling these matters!!!!!!!!! much love gilo, oh and son.

I see sunday May 6th (Culham) is now a round of the modern chairs. SMCA sidecar championship. Just hope you old sidecars are not left out. or just the support entertainment stuck in the ruts.
How on earth can this meeting be called "VINTAGE." .
Please don`t get me wrong. I`m all for any sidecar meeting but the build up to this meeting was out of this world. " team event" "des nations" "vintage"
The Devon Classic meeting is looking more promising. (same weekend)

To see the reasons behind kevin daniels move to include two groups of moderns at a vintage meeting . plz read below
Just to clear up some issues that have been brought to my attention regard to the Culham Event.
There will be 3, yes 3 sidecar classes at the event.
Pre85,evo pre2000,Smca championship.
Im sorry that this has upset some & may put some off from entering, but due to the love of the sport the offer was 1 that could not be turned down.
I understand that some are upset that events have been changed over the course of time,in reflection some changes have had to be made to ensure the success of the event & others due to the fact when planning the event so far in advance things sometimes may not work.
The concept of having a des nations style pre85 class changed due to the numbers required to make the class work,at least 40 crews would have been required and it became clear that this wasnt going to happen in year 1.Lets hope that if people work together this could happen in the future.
I am proud to have been asked to put on a round of the new SMCA championship, without its support where else would the UK's top 10 crews have got a race this year other than at a British Championship round or accross the water. They may not be vintage but they still have 3 wheels just like all chairs.
The event will run as follows: pre85 & evo will race on Sat/Sun 2 races each day of 12mins +1.The modern class will have 3 18+1 races on the Sunday only. The track will have grading done on saturday evening to ensure a good days racing the following day.
Lots of effort is going into ensuring that the sidecar classes get an event that we can all enjoy,if entries or any other info is required please get in touch at
club-moto-retro@hotmail.co.uk or phone on 07748 792280.

All twinshock sidecars come to culham and ride a good track for the weekend and not piss about riding thought a river in devon in some grass field
culham
looks to me that the top 2 twinshock chairs in the country are the only ones that can handle this real track, anyone else going to culham or is it grasstrack for you?

Yup. you are right there sean !!!!!!!
Looks like everyone is goin to a proper twinshock meeting near the sea on the grass.
lots of sand/sea/and cider.
just hope the top two twinshock crews have a good race with each other, sounds fun.

Re: Club moto retro- culham vintage motocross. 2012
its sad when you have to put on your own meeting just to ride rotax when all the twinshocks sidecars could all run together but some one has taken it to far by having motors that are to new spoil it for every one else
Re: Club moto retro- culham vintage motocross. 2012
Not sure if this is the right topic title to chat about the rights and wrongs of the Rotax engine Adie. be it right or wrong.
Have to point out that there has been a meeting for all twinshock sidecars run by the Dartmouth club for the last 5 or so years on the may bank holiday weekend which has always been well attended.

Re: Club moto retro- culham vintage motocross. 2012
The same motor that Graham Jones used Ady?
By the look of it the few twinnies that end up at Culham will end up in with the evo's anyway, so the whole fuss will have been for nothing!
