It is with great sorrow that I have to inform you that Fred passed away on Wednesday 21st February.
I have known Fred for at least 55 of my 66 years and it was because of Brian Warwick and Freddie that I got my first 'taste' of scrambling with my parents transporting their bikes in an old sheep trailer to meetings. Freddie did both solo and sidecar scrambling, was a 'Cotton' devotee and returned to riding solo on a Starmaker engined Cotton in such meetings as the British Bonanza in the 1980s.
I will supply the funeral arrangements etc as soon as they become available.

Freds family have asked me to confirm the funeral arrangements to you all.
The funeral will be on Friday 6th April at Glynn Valley Crematorium, Bodmin, Cornwall.
Afterwards they will be going to The Old Wainhouse, Wainhouse Corner near Bude which was his local.
They have asked for donations to the British Heart Foundation.
It will be a celebration of his life therefore if you have any memories or stories of his early racing days, then please send them to me via this page and I will collate them and forward them to his daughter.
