does anyone know what age a passenger has to be to start racing. I would like to get my 15 year old son in the chair when we can find an outfit

You will find the age related info on the ACU and AMCA websites.
My son started passengering at 15 which is OK with the AMCA provided the specific club you are riding at accepts "minors" Many don't, due to some ridiculous child protection legislation. Don't get me going on that subject.
The ACU will want him to do a competence test to ride under 16 on a sidecar.
Of course you could just lie about his age as some have done in the past but that would get very messy if the sh*t hit the fan.

I started at 14 with the amca but i think that the amca now say 15 but some the off the amca clubs say you have to be 18 for some reason i do not understand. Only being 16 i have only had a problem riding at 1 amca event.
