Excellent news about the GP, will be excellent to have it back in the UK again if it can be made to happen. Have seen it on the calendar a few times before... I hope this time it can stay there.

I also hope for good weather at Langrish (think we can all remember the muddy one of 94? was it??).

Twinshock support would be brilliant for us chair folk, but will understand if the organisers plumb for a solo support to try and boost the gate numbers. Whatever happens this is a great boost for sidecarcross in the UK, roll on April!

Cheers

Not to be a turd in punch bowl, but I know what would happen here, the track would be set up for the modern sidecars (GP Level) which scares me just to watch, then the Pre 84's would have to get around on the same track, and racers being racers no matter how old could be bad. Other than the possible injury issue but how bad would the pre 84's look on a jump-o-cross track? Or do they modify the track as much in the UK as they do here?

With the track being used for the GP (Langrish) this is not so much of an issue. Langrish is one of the best natural tracks in the UK and already home of one of the largest Twin-Shock internationals run in the UK during August.

Running twin shocks on the track would not be an issue unless the club intend to make some serious alterations, but, I do think the chances of a Twin-Shock support are slim for other reasons.

Unfortunately, with the best will in the world, we are a pretty poor show for those without a direct interest in sidecarcross when comparred to the likes of the GP riders. An international solo support or even a solo support featuring just the top brits is probably going to draw a larger crowd and therefore make the event more viable...

Unless - The organisers look at something like the setup in Belgium where the GP is more of a sidecar festival with lots of classes and sidecar only. This then generates a very large sidecar enthusiastic crowd.... This could work well as long as the weather in the UK plays nicely too...

But before we get all excited it is perhaps worth investigating who would come to a UK GP to watch/ride support from abroad as the costs to get to the UK for our European friends tend to be a fair bit more than a trip to Belgium?

Oh, I suppose it might also help to ask the organisers what they think/have planned... Knowing the work it takes to put on a GP I am sure plans are already very much in place to get things sorted for an event that is less than 7 months away... ;-)

Genk I think have it spot on with the sidecar only festival.I loved every minute! Not a two wheeler in sight! It is up to the club organisers to promote this event where people are going to see it! GET IT OUT THERE!! These events need to get the ordinary guy & family to turn up to have a great day as well as the usual supporters of motocross. The track is one of the best in the country & with big jumps and huge hills, which are a challenge. However competeing in such an event would proberbly be one of the best experiances you could have on three wheels!! We all have a responsibility to support this event the best we can and make it a success, I think if properly planned out there has got to be enough chairs out there old & new to make this a great spectical for our sport! But I do have doubts that the oranising club will not go down this route because it is easy to fill the line with solos whichI suppose you cannot blame them but for me personally it will be a PISSER! Sad
